The son of a master craftsman, designer and artist, Michael Padykula grew up learning his family's business first hand, which inevitably led him to open his own business in his early twenties to pursue his own passions.
After traveling the globe, volunteering and learning, he cultivated a love for architecture and design. These ideas have melded with his love of nature, art and fine carpentry skills, forging a passion for creating artisan furniture, cabinetry, lighting and decor.
Continually inspired by his experiences and surroundings, his use of natural and fine materials combined with his eye for detail has made him a favorite collaborator with interior designers and fellow artisans.
"I have always been and will be an artist and craftsman. It's in my blood...I get it from my dad...I thank him for that. Ever since I can remember, I was drawing, painting and building. Putting my own twist on things and trying to make them work and look better. I can't control it...I just naturally do it."
The Process
As a client, you will appreciate Michaels' attentive and communicative style.
A project will begin with an initial consult to discuss and plan. Then, Michael will bring your vision to life with detailed hand drawings and provide estimated project lengths and costs.
Fabrication and Installation happens next with a focus on efficiency and (like a true Virgo) leaving your home more beautiful and clean then he found it!
Michael designs and creates at his studio workshop in beautiful Western North Carolina. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Regular Life
If Michael is not in his studio, you will most likely find him active in the outdoors, biking, hiking or boarding. Then home, cooking up a fresh, scrumptious meal.
